Live webinar + Peer circle – Exploring the complexity of client use of AI in tandem with relational therapy
I am excited to be holding a series of live, intimate hybrid webinar + peer support sessions exploring the complexity of client use of AI in tandem with relational therapy.
There will be a maximum of 8 participants for each session. This is so we can be in a community space with each other that facilitates being seen and heard.
In the first hour we will explore to:
· Getting curious about clients relationship with AI - What is it good for?
· Clinical reflections around (therapeutic) AI use as a relational decoy.
· Dilution of the frame/transference
· How much human can each client tolerate? Titrating up rationality
Client vignettes + Scripts to take into your practice.
After a comfort break in the final 50 minutes I will lead a group space open for questions relating to the presentation. This is also a time for any client material you wish to bring anonymised to talk through together. A sacred space for sharing thoughts and feelings related to AI’s infiltration in your practice and our collective ideas about relational holding.
First Date: Sunday 7th June 10-12.15 pm
CPD length approx: 2hr 15 min
Investment: £90 per person
Join me live on Sunday 7th June 10-12.15 pm (GMT) to explore how Gen AI use is creeping into the therapeutic space and how we might conceptualize client’s use through a relational lens. My aim is that you will leave with:
More confidence to initiate conversations with clients related to AI use.
Ideas and research to draw upon to better understand client drive towards Gen AI grounded in curiosity and compassion.
Connection with like minded practitioners who share your concerns and values related to the potential acceleration of relational AI over - dependency.
A gentle reminder this space isn’t for everyone. It’s specifically for practitioners who have chosen to resist using AI in their work both client facing and behind the scenes of their practice. Those that would not actively encourage Gen AI use.
Who this webinar is for:
Trainee therapists who wish to work relationally looking to get ahead of the curve on how to approach in the room conversations around (therapeutic) AI use with clients. Those afraid of losing principles that matter to them most.
Therapists that work relationally who are noticing more clients bringing AI use for therapeutic means into the therapy room. Or those who want to be equipped for when these conversations do inevitably show up ( and they will)
Practitioners looking for support and language to talk to clients about (therapeutic) AI use and how it might impact the work we are doing in sessions.
Psychotherapists looking for a safe space to land and explore in community feelings related to AI impact on our client work and any fears around impact on our profession.
Who this webinar isn’t for:
Practitioners of any modality who do not hold the relationship between client and therapist as the most significant tool within their work.
Therapists who are pro AI in their practice, either client facing or in the workings behind the scenes (or both). Whether that looks like using it as Virtual Assistant, pseudo supervisor, note summariser. Asking AI companions to conceptualise client sessions (even anonymised) or as a sounding board about anything related to the mental, psychical and spiritual wellbeing of clients. Any therapist who would actively encourage or suggest to clients that they use AI companions between sessions to process their feelings, journal or reality test their thoughts.
Therapists who believe their role is to serve the client’s needs/wants/desire above all else.
Any therapist who regularly uses AI companions for their own therapeutic needs and see no issue with that.
The great thing about there being so many therapists working with clients today is that we don’t all have to be the same. We are allowed to hold our own values and ways of working as long as we regularly check in with and question how they are supportive to ourselves and our clients. This requires components beyond self-work such as supervision, personal therapy and peer support.
If this webinar is not for you, that’s ok.
