Online CPD For Therapists
Confidence to work with client’s AI companion use in relational therapy
Recorded Webinar | £ 65
Essential learning for trainee and qualified therapists
Effectively support your clients to understand their drives towards relational AI, how it weaves into the therapeutic experience and their inherited stories.
Being the kind of human therapist who can sit at the intersect of AI companion use and relational therapy is what is being asked of our industry at this moment in time.
This CPD is suited to trainee and qualified therapists who are interested in expanding their understanding of how clients seek out AI companions for relational purposes. For those who want to build the skills and confidence to identify patterns, bringing potentially transformative awareness to those we sit opposite.
This webinar is for practitioners who want to understand more deeply client’s drive towards AI for companionship without endorsing it or condemning it. Instead, like with any habit, relationship or substance use our clients share - we want to get underneath it.
To help our clients to recognize their relational drive towards speaking therapeutically to something, the experience of which doesn’t hold the same relational demands of speaking to someone.
This isn’t a webinar for therapists who are looking for ways to include AI use in their therapy work and are actively directing their clients towards it. Or those who buy wholeheartedly into the notion that something is better than nothing.
It’s for those of us who understand the deeply the alluring draw of a relationship without the effort of reciprocity. Of the appearance of aliveness without any of the stakes, or disappointment. While also holding bone deep concerns about the mental well being of the world and the distortion that regular AI companion use will cause. Considering the relational and cognitive atrophy and the resulting decrease in tolerance for the real other.
I'll share what I’ve learned through working with many client presentations, those I’ve witnessed in my own clinic as well as the material other therapists have sought out my peer support sessions for us to explore together as AI has come into the therapy room.
From these experiences I have created a clinical concept to identify relational drives towards AI that you will have access to as a tool to apply directly in your client work. Alongside digestible current research, client vignettes and scripts to open dialogue.
